I can cook!

I'm known for being a big fan of take-out (not fast food - I usually like pretty healthy stuff), but I'm trying to get into the habit of cooking more often.

Proof: me this weekend!

I'm always looking for good vegetarian recipes - does anyone have some to share? I do eat fish and seafood, but nothing with meat please!

And the winners are...

OK, I wasn't lying when I said that I was leaving for the rest of the day, but it started raining heavily and I wasn't feeling too great anyway, so I decided to stay in.

So here are the photos of the drawing that Louis-Justin and I did this morning!

My little guy and his empty bucket...

All the names, handwritten on small pieces of paper... Do you see yours?

Making sure that all the papers are inside...

Yes, they are!

Now time to pick! No cheating, close your eyes!

And the first winner is...

Congratulations dementia! Here's your Woman In Black letter set!

And since I was feeling generous, the second winner is...

Congratulations Jordana! Here's your Butterfly Fairytale letter set!

And here's one last photo just to show you that Louis-Justin can look serious sometimes!

A big round of applause for dementia and Jordana! I'll need your shipping info as soon as possible. Please send it to: wevegotpaper (at) yahoo (dot) ca

I'm going to be doing different giveaways regularly from now on, so if you didn't win this time, there's always next time!

Thanks for playing!

Tomorrow

Thanks to the 49 people who participated in my blog giveaway!

The winners have been picked (yes, there are TWO winners!) and the photos have been taken... But I'm leaving for the rest of the day, so the results will be posted tomorrow.

Suspense, suspense...

My big boy!

Louis-Justin still looks like a baby to me most of the time. (He IS my baby and always will be, so I guess that's normal.) But on this picture, I think that he looks much older than he actually is!

My son is 4 years old and will turn 5 on August 8. I'm trying to think of a theme for his birthday party... He's always loved trains, so maybe Thomas the Tank Engine? I still have plenty of time to organize everything, but I'd like his 5th birthday to be memorable!

Grocery Lists

My new grocery lists are finally up for sale on Etsy! I have 3 designs so far (cherry, avocado and tomato) and will have several more in the future (possibly blackberry, pear, banana, strawberry, watermelon, sushi, vegetable basket, olive, peppers, etc).

What designs / foods would you like to see on my upcoming grocery lists? I'm open to ideas and suggestions!

I still have to take photos of the avocado and tomato, but in the meantime, here's the cherry grocery list notepad and pen set!

All my grocery lists are also available in French (Liste d'épicerie) because I plan on selling them locally. I've already sold quite a few to family and friends! They make the perfect gift because they're useful AND pretty!

The Woman In Black

Another new letter set in my Etsy shop!

People think that she's just a regular housewife, but The Woman In Black is actually a spy. So be careful when you write letters on this stationery, your life might be in danger...

Guardian Angel

Here's a new letter set that I listed in my Etsy shop yesterday!

Do you believe in guardian angels? I like to think that there are spiritual beings watching over us...

Flowers

I don't have a garden, but things still grow everywhere around my house... Here's what I found in my front yard yesterday!

I love spring! I'm going outside to write a letter to my dear penpal Amy from England while Louis-Justin plays in his sandbox!

Etsy Team!

My friend Helena from Little Mo and Friends and I are creating a new Etsy Team! The name of the team is Etsy Snail Mailers. Anyone who has an Etsy shop, who designs letter sets, sells handmade postcards and fun things to send through the mail is welcome to join! The goal of our team is to promote our shops but also to have a network of supportive people who have indie businesses, love stationery and writing letters! We'll organize fun projects from time to time too.

If you're interested in joining the team or know anyone who might be, contact me or Helena!

Sushi Letter Sets

I recently got a custom order for 2 new sushi letter sets. (Hi Stephanie!)

The first one is called "Sushi Splash".

I was thinking about "Sushi Chopsticks" for the second set because the lines are made of little chopsticks, but maybe it sounds weird? Any suggestions for the name of this set?

They should be available in my Etsy shop within the next few weeks!

X-ray

I've been dealing with mild to severe neck pains for the last 2 years and lately it has gotten worse... So I'm finally going for an X-ray this morning. I've tried seeing an osteopath last year, but it didn't help. I'd like to know what's wrong exactly... Hopefully it's nothing too serious! I can't wait to find out. I don't know how long I'll have to wait for the results, but I'm crossing my fingers that it will be quick.

After the X-ray, I need to get my car to the garage for an oil change + tire change. I have a fun day ahead of me! ;)

Letters

To all my penpals... Thanks for being so patient with me! I'm happy to say that I'm finally ALMOST all caught up on my mail now! I only have a few more letters to write and then I'll hopefully be able to reply to letters as I receive them.

I'm curious. For those of you who have penpals, how long does it usually take you to write back? When my letters weren't extremely long, I used to reply within a month. When I started writing longer letters, it took me 2-3 months or more to write back. Unfortunately, I injured my thumb last fall and didn't write any letters for 5 months, so I obviously got behind. Ideally, I'd like to be able to reply within a month from now on. There's hope!

Isn't it magical to receive a handwritten letter in your mailbox?!

Random stuff

Here's a list of all the fantastic things that happened over the last few days:
  • I went to my friend's birthday party on Saturday night and it was great! A bunch of us ended up spending the night there and I didn't fall asleep until 4:30am. I never do that anymore, now that I'm a responsible mom, ha! It was wonderful.
  • I went to the park with Louis-Justin on Sunday. A simple but fun day.
  • I ate sushi a couple of times recently, yum!
  • Yesterday I designed 2 new letter sets that I can't wait to list in my store!

Meet "The Woman In Black"...

And "Guardian Angel"!

Louis-Justin just left with his dad because Nicolas is getting his passport today. My little guy loves going to Montreal, especially when he gets to use the subway/metro! Nicolas is leaving for Chicago next week for a 5 day training for work. It will be nice to have the house to myself for a while! I might ask Mario if he'd like to stay with me and pretend that we live together for a few days while Nicolas is gone! :)

Back to work!

Friends!

Today, I was reminded that friends are important. I had lunch with my oldest friend Véronique (we've known each other for over 17 years) and her 2 kids. They're 4 and 5, so Louis-Justin had fun with them!

Véronique only lives about 10 minutes from my house. She lived in Calgary for a year but she came back to Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu recently. We should see each other more often!

Look at her, isn't she pretty? :)

And tomorrow my other best friend is celebrating her birthday. Here's a photo of her that I took last summer... Happy birthday, Annik!

Thank you for being such wonderful friends, girls!

Can you find me?!

It's been almost a month since I came back from Mexico and I haven't done anything with my photos yet! I took so many that it will probably take me a whole afternoon to play with them... I'll post many of them on my blog, but in the meantime, here's a family portrait of my mom, my son and I that was taken on the beach! Can you see me? :)
