X-ray

I've been dealing with mild to severe neck pains for the last 2 years and lately it has gotten worse... So I'm finally going for an X-ray this morning. I've tried seeing an osteopath last year, but it didn't help. I'd like to know what's wrong exactly... Hopefully it's nothing too serious! I can't wait to find out. I don't know how long I'll have to wait for the results, but I'm crossing my fingers that it will be quick.

After the X-ray, I need to get my car to the garage for an oil change + tire change. I have a fun day ahead of me! ;)

Letters

To all my penpals... Thanks for being so patient with me! I'm happy to say that I'm finally ALMOST all caught up on my mail now! I only have a few more letters to write and then I'll hopefully be able to reply to letters as I receive them.

I'm curious. For those of you who have penpals, how long does it usually take you to write back? When my letters weren't extremely long, I used to reply within a month. When I started writing longer letters, it took me 2-3 months or more to write back. Unfortunately, I injured my thumb last fall and didn't write any letters for 5 months, so I obviously got behind. Ideally, I'd like to be able to reply within a month from now on. There's hope!

Isn't it magical to receive a handwritten letter in your mailbox?!

Random stuff

Here's a list of all the fantastic things that happened over the last few days:
  • I went to my friend's birthday party on Saturday night and it was great! A bunch of us ended up spending the night there and I didn't fall asleep until 4:30am. I never do that anymore, now that I'm a responsible mom, ha! It was wonderful.
  • I went to the park with Louis-Justin on Sunday. A simple but fun day.
  • I ate sushi a couple of times recently, yum!
  • Yesterday I designed 2 new letter sets that I can't wait to list in my store!

Meet "The Woman In Black"...

And "Guardian Angel"!

Louis-Justin just left with his dad because Nicolas is getting his passport today. My little guy loves going to Montreal, especially when he gets to use the subway/metro! Nicolas is leaving for Chicago next week for a 5 day training for work. It will be nice to have the house to myself for a while! I might ask Mario if he'd like to stay with me and pretend that we live together for a few days while Nicolas is gone! :)

Back to work!

Friends!

Today, I was reminded that friends are important. I had lunch with my oldest friend Véronique (we've known each other for over 17 years) and her 2 kids. They're 4 and 5, so Louis-Justin had fun with them!

Véronique only lives about 10 minutes from my house. She lived in Calgary for a year but she came back to Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu recently. We should see each other more often!

Look at her, isn't she pretty? :)

And tomorrow my other best friend is celebrating her birthday. Here's a photo of her that I took last summer... Happy birthday, Annik!

Thank you for being such wonderful friends, girls!

Can you find me?!

It's been almost a month since I came back from Mexico and I haven't done anything with my photos yet! I took so many that it will probably take me a whole afternoon to play with them... I'll post many of them on my blog, but in the meantime, here's a family portrait of my mom, my son and I that was taken on the beach! Can you see me? :)

Easter!

I wasn't feeling too well for the last couple of days and I didn't want to post a depressing entry, so I just didn't write anything. Nothing bad is going on, I guess the 7+ rainy days in a row that we had last week just affected my mood! But now the sun is finally shining and I'm feeling better!

I'm not doing anything for Easter... I never really cared about this holiday but I did like getting chocolate when I was younger! Louis-Justin will be spending the day with his dad & family tomorrow, so I'll have the house to myself. I wonder what I could do? I have to think of something or else I'll end up working, like usual!

I'm curious... For those of you who work from home or have their own business - how many hours a day do you usually work and how many days a week? For me it's hard to say but I usually do something business-related every day, 7 days a week. Some days I only work for an hour or two and some other days I work 8+ hours. But I'm pretty much thinking about We've Got Paper 24 hours a day, so it feels like I'm working most of the time. At least I enjoy what I do, it's not like it's a chore or anything! :)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Fruit!

I can't believe how adorable these fruit stickers are! My friend Regina from the Philippines made them. If I didn't already have 8652 stickers that needed to be used up, I'd buy this cute set!

Speaking about fruit - I just realized that I hardly eat any these days. I eat a lot of vegetables (unlike Reg - haha!), but no fruit. I have to do something about that! Maybe I should stop designing fruit stationery and start EATING them instead! :)

Off to eat some strawberries...

Animation Movies

I just came back from the movies with Louis-Justin. I have 10 free movie tickets that need to be used this month (let's just say that I bought quite a few cereal boxes recently)...

The movie we watched was Monsters vs Aliens. Has anyone else seen this? If so, I'm curious to know what you thought about it. Louis-Justin liked it - I can say that it was entertaining, but I wasn't too impressed. Not boring, but... plain? Ordinary? Maybe it didn't help that I saw the French version... I always watch movies in English, but Louis-Justin understands French much better.

I've seen a lot of animation movies over the years, but my favorite one has to be Meet the Robinsons! I've cried every single time I've seen it. I just think it's such a positive movie about family and never giving up... If you've never seen it, you should give it a try! :)

What's your favorite animation movie?

Hmm, food!

My voice is back! My boyfriend was so cute, since I had to whisper for a couple of days he whispered too! Kind of funny to see a 6 foot tall guy whispering! :)

I'm craving some sushi! It's been a long time since I went to my favorite all you can eat sushi restaurant... Ginza in Montreal!

But instead I had this for lunch... Pasta with shrimp and soy sauce + hoisin sauce + a little hot sauce. Not too bad, but nothing beats sushi!

And now I'm hungry and it's almost time for dinner... Sushi would be sooo gooood!!

Wednesday, April 1, 2009

I actually posted 2 days in a row, wow, that's a great start!

My voice is thankfully slowly getting better and I no longer have to whisper all the time. My mom phoned me earlier and she said that I had a sexy voice, but I think that I sound like a frog.

Louis-Justin got a new bicycle today! His first real bike, yay! He had a cute red tricycle but it broke last fall. Today he picked a shiny blue Hot Wheels.

I'm excited because I'm ordering postcards to advertise my Panda Girl letter set and I contacted a few amazing artists to make friends and collaborate with other stationery designers... Here's what it looks like!

It's almost time for bed but first I have to help Nicolas cook a meal that I won't even get to eat! Chicken, peppers, onions, tomatoes, parmesan, rice... I'm a vegetarian so I no longer eat meat, but sometimes I "take a break" and have a bite. Yeah I'm actually a fake vegetarian. And I'm not even ashamed... Ah well.

Good night!
